Teela woke up earlier than normal. She undid her ankle cuff, climbed out of bed, yawned and prepared for the day. After her shower, she took extra time to apply her makeup, following the Praxton style to add colour on her eyelids. She put on her uniform, adding the cuffs and collar. For the first time since she arrived on the ship, Teela added a chain between her wrist cuffs. Finally, she attached a leash to her collar, slipping the end strap around her left wrist.
The viewscreen showed a non-smiling woman of average height and slightly higher than average weight. The shoulder-length red, wavy hair outlined a pretty face. She was getting more comfortable with the revealing nature of the uniform, although she still didnât like how her breasts moved under the lightweight fabric. It seems so obvious Iâm not wearing a bra. Although none of the other women wear any, and I guess they donât draw extra attention. She left her room and saw Narcel waiting for her, her hands on her hips.
She stared at Teela for several seconds before speaking. âThatâs a better effort in preparing for the day. However, when you took your shower this morning, you kept the outside wall dark. I prefer it to be transparent so you are visible showering in the morning. I also want you to add nipple jewellery occasionally in the future.â
âYes, Ms. Narcel.â
âPut your shoes on. Iâll escort you to your workstation.â Narcel took the leash strap from Teela and led her out to the hallway.
Teela walked in silence, noticing the slower pace all women walked in the Star Hawk. She expected a few stares at being escorted by a leash but didnât receive undue attention. There were two other women being led with leashes, making her feel less conspicuous. She recalled studying the Praxton culture before accepting a position on the Star Hawk, but the reality of it applied to herself was something she now had to get used to.
The wearing of a collar, cuffs, revealing clothes and being submissive to males didnât cause her too much concern. What she hadnât expected was the hierarchy nature of the female group she was in, and the social rules of how a female was supposed to act. She resisted the senior female telling her what to do and how to behave.
âMs. Narcel, I am sorry for any distress I have caused you.â
âYour apology is accepted, but it will not deter me from disciplining you. I will make you behave as a proper female should. Someday, you may even thank me for teaching you this.â
They arrived at Teelaâs work area, a room with six workstations to monitor incoming signals from the array of sensors on the outside of the ship. Narcel approached the shift leader, a dark-skinned woman.
âCorporal Karlson, Teela is required to be on a leash. Please ensure she follows the proper procedure. I will pick her up at the end of her shift.â
âOf course.â Karlson smiled, showing off a pleasant disposition.
